Mass Update

This Saturday afternoon brings a crazy mixture of entries: Twelve characters across six different OAVs and movies. They consist of Ai City, the classic dystopian future movie; Makeru na! Makendo, a one-shot OAV lightly spoofing magical transformation shows; Ultimate Teacher, a one-shot OAV about a run-down school and the teacher who seeks to put the unruly students in check; Summer Wars, the recent sci-fi/adventure movie about happenings in a Second Life-like virtual world; Luna Varga, a classic swords and sorcery OAV; and Tobira o Akete, a 1986 movie (not the 1995 movie with the same name, which is unrelated) about people from this world being drawn into a fantasy world.
If you haven't heard of most of those, you're not alone. I'm on somewhat of an obscure material kick lately so I figured I'd give these properties their due. Summer Wars is relatively recent (and very good) and I remember hearing about both Ai City and Luna Varga back when I first got into anime in the early to mid 90s, but the others were totally new to me. Find a way to watch them all and then get to voting!
