Description
Jennifer Portman is an American scientist who arrives in Japan to study 'Extended Definition', a condition in which a species is able to prevent its own extinction. That she is rarely seen without alcohol and is often extremely drunk would suggest that she is incapable of serious work, but she is in fact very smart and extremely skilled in her field.
