More Sweet than Bitter

If you're talking about incredibly popular love triangle anime from the 80s and 90s, there's Maison Ikkoku, there's Kimegure Orange Road, and then there's this series. Marmalade Boy is high school melodrama at its very finest, despite starting to drag by the last dozen episodes or so (they really could have done without the New York arc). Seven more cute and most likely lovelorn girls are now up for voting!
