Little Bit of Everything

A rare mid-week update brings 16 more girls to the site. First up is Gosick. Studio Bones isn't the surefire guaranteed group for me they were years ago, but they produced a striking mystery story set in 1924 and starring a gothic lolita, so I was in from the start. It ended up being very enjoyable despite it being less pure mystery than one might think.
Second is the recently aired Deadman Wonderland, a super violent and cruel, but intriguing story about a privately owned cross between a circus and prison and the various goings on within. Overall when compared to other gorefests like Elfen Lied it's not as good, but to be fair Deadman Wonderland has different goals. Twelve episodes was clearly not enough, as the ending felt very incomplete and rushed, but for what it was, it was worth watching.
Third is a decent at best OAV called Kigurumikku V3, a three episode story about little girls who don alien stuffed animals to transform into superheroes. It was clearly aimed to be tongue-in-cheek but felt like little more than an animation grad student's thesis project despite being produced by a major studio.
Last is one of those obscure one-shots that I love: Gdleen, an OAV from 1989 about a Japanese businessman who crash lands on an alien planet.
As always, stay tuned for more updates and keep voting!
